  2. No single verse provides everything we need to know about life and godliness, which is why God has given to us “all Scripture” (2 Tim. 3.16-17). But there are standout verses…
  3. What makes John 3.16 great?

“For God” – the Greatest Giver

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill ….toward men!” (Luke 2.14).

“So Loved” – the Greatest Motive

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that …while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5.8).

“The World” – the Greatest Number

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared …to all men” (Titus 2.11).

“That He Gave” – the Greatest Act

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s …life for his friends” (John 15.13).

“His Only Begotten Son” – the Greatest Gift

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift” (2 Cor. 9.15).

“That Whosoever” – the Greatest Invitation

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and …I will give you rest” (Matt. 11.28).

“Believes in Him” – the Greatest Response
