“The Proof of this Ministry”

2 Corinthians 9.13

Introduction:

1. In verse 13 we find the phrase, “the proof of this ministry…” (nkjv) – Greek: teés dokimeés teés diakonías.
   1. “The test of this service” (rsv).
   2. “The experiment of this ministration” (kjv).
   3. “The proof given by this ministry” (nasb).
2. Any biblically authorized endeavor should achieve two goals:
   1. Produce good in others.
   2. Glorify God!
3. What can we concluded about our recent lectureship?

GOD’S WORD WAS PREACHED!

1. Every sermon was biblically based & spiritually challenging!
   1. They “preached the word!” (2 Tim. 4.2)
   2. They were well prepared. (2 Tim. 2.15)
2. God was glorified!

LOS OSOS MEMBERS WERE SUPPORTIVE!

1. The lectureship was well supported by our members.
   1. Time, energy & hospitality. (Heb. 6.10-12; 1 Pet. 4.9)
   2. It’s always about priorities. (Matt. 6.33)
2. God was glorified!

SEVERAL VISITORS JOINED US!

1. We had visitors for every session.
   1. Visiting brethren from other congregations. (1 Pet. 2.17)
   2. Visitors from the community. (John 1.46)
2. God was glorified!

IS THE TRAINING PROGRAM EFFECTIVE?

1. What is “the proof of this ministry”?
   1. Faithful men have been trained. (2 Tim. 2.2)
   2. They came and edified us!
      1. By preaching God’s word. (Rom. 10.15)
      2. By remaining in ministry. (2 Tim. 4.5)
2. May God continue to be glorified!

Conclusion: “The proof of this ministry” is wonderfully apparent!
