AM Scripture Reading: Romans 12.3-8

…WE CARE…

Introduction:

1. The apostle Peter exhorted Christians: “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Pet. 5.7).
2. The apostle Paul emphasized the importance of every member of Christ’s body. (Rom. 12.3-8 & 1 Cor. 12.12-27)
   1. Rom. 12.5: “so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.”
   2. 1 Cor. 12.25: “that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.”
3. God uses His faithful children to provide the care humanity needs, particularly the multiple physical and spiritual problems in life. (Cf., Gal. 6.10; Titus 3.8)
4. The world needs to know We Care, and many of our brethren need to be reminded that We Care!

WE CARE, SO WE TAKE THE TIME TO SHARE!

1. We share the saving gospel of Christ with the lost.
   1. We take this seriously. (John 1.43-46; Matt. 28.18-20)
   2. “He who wins souls is wise…” (Prov. 11.30).
2. We share our physical blessings with the needy. (Gal. 6.10)
   1. “Let us do good to all men” (Luke 6.31-35; Heb. 13.16)
   2. “Especially those of the household of faith.” (Acts 4.32)
3. We share our time & love with our brethren. (Rom. 12.9-13)

WE CARE, SO WE APPROACH GOD IN PRAYER!

1. We pray for open doors of opportunity to share the gospel. (Col. 4.2-4)
2. We pray for the physical needs of our brethren: health, comfort & emotional well-being. (James 5.13-16)
3. We pray for the spiritual needs of brethren. (Eph. 6.18)
4. We pray for the strength of the congregation. (Col. 1.9-12)

Conclusion: As members of Christ’s body, everyone of us should care about the lost souls of the world, and care about the needs of our brethren. God cares by providing His children that care…
