THE Who Are We? For nearly forty-three years, the Cayucos Church of Christ met in the quiet little coastal village where it started with about five adults and six children in 1961. Through the years the congregation grew and finally found itself in need of a new facility with a greater seating capacity for worship, and definitely more parking. By the kindness of one of its members, a piece of property was acquired in Los Osos where current plans are being made for the construction of a new church building. The building site is located at 2058 Los Osos Valley Road, Los Osos, CA. Hopefully, construction will begin sometime in 2006. Geographically, Los Osos is more centrally located for the overall membership of the congregation – members living in In the meanwhile, the Los Osos Valley Mortuary & Cemetery has graciously permitted us to use their chapel and offices for worship and Bible classes. The generosity of these kind folks has been overwhelming and we are sincerely appreciative. The location of this beautiful facility is at We are simply interested in restoring Christianity in its organization, worship and work by respecting the pattern found in the New Testament (Philippians 3.17). The Old Testament was written for our learning (Romans 15.4), while the New Testament was written for our living in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 10.1-9). Indeed, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3.16-17).

Known now as the Los Osos Church of Christ – the location has changed but our purpose has not – that we continue the work that was begun in 1961 – namely, to spread the saving gospel of Jesus Christ (Romans 1.16-17), and to provide those who desire to worship God “in spirit and truth” (John 4.23-24) an opportunity to do so. We are truly a non-denominational church as we are autonomous and have no official ties with any other congregation. We salute other “churches of Christ” (Romans 16.16) who seek to honor Jesus Christ by preaching and practicing only those things that are authorized in His teachings (Matthew 28.18-20; John 12.48).
