This Morning’s Sermon:

THREE TENETS
- The McDonald’s Corporation has enjoyed great success because of the vision of businessman Ray Kroc and the unique philosophy he aggressively endorsed.
- Profundity, Simplicity & Consistency are three tenets that are vitally important for the success of Christianity.
I. PROFUNDITY
- God’s Word is profound! (Isa. 55.8-11; Heb. 4.12-13)
- God’s Word reveals profound facts that we need to know:
- The depth of sin. (Rom. 3.23; 6.23; Eccl. 7.20; Gal. 3.22)
- God’s love. (John 3.16; Rom. 5.6-8; 1 John 4.9)
- The gospel’s power. (Rom. 1.16; 1 Cor. 1.18)
- Christ’s church. (Matt. 16.18; 1 Cor. 3.11; Eph. 4.11-12)
- The reality of death & judgment. (Heb. 9.27; 2 Cor. 5.10)
- Truth is profound! (John 8.32)
II. SIMPLICITY
- Do not confuse “simplicity” with “simplistic.”
- To be “simplistic” is to oversimplify.
- Some doctrines are dangerously simplistic: Universalism (John 3.16); Faith Only (James 2.24); Impossibility of Apostasy (Heb. 10.26)
- The profundity of Christ’s teachings is its simplicity.
- The basis of the gospel. (1 Cor. 15.1-4)
- The plan of salvation. (Acts 2.37-38; 18.8; Rom. 6.3-7)
- The organization of the church. (Eph. 5.23; Col. 1.18)
- The local autonomy of the church. (Phil. 1.1; 1 Pet. 5.2)
- The design of worship. (John 4.23-24; Acts 2.42)
- The purpose of life. (Eccl. 12.13-14)
III. CONSISTENCY
- God’s own constancy. (Mal. 3.6; James 1.17)
- Jesus is “the same yesterday, today and forever” (Heb. 13.8).
- The cases of conversion. (Acts 2, 8, 9, 10, 16, 18, 22, etc.)
- Every facet of authentic Christianity. (2 Tim. 3.16-17)
- Every aspect of the church. (Phil. 3.17; Heb. 8.2-5)
Conclusion: Profundity, Simplicity & Consistency are the Three Tenets we must honor and practice for spiritual success
