LOVE CONQUERS ALL

Introduction: Try to imagine what our world would be like if the genuine love as outlined in 1 Corinthians 13 was in the hearts of everybody today, or at least, in the hearts of most people.

I. GOD’S LOVE TOWARD MANKIND

  1. God has loved man from the beginning. (Eph. 1.3-6)

  2. God’s love exemplified. (John 3.16; Rom. 5.8; 1 John 4.9-10)

II. LOVE IS DEFINED BY GOD (I Cor. 13.4-8)

  1. Love is long suffering & is patient with others. (Eph. 4.2)

  2. Love is kind & does the right thing. (Eph. 4.32)

  3. Love does not envy, but rejoices with others. (Gal. 5.26)

  4. Love does not boast, but regards others. (Heb. 13.16)

  5. Love is not self-conceited & esteems others. (Phil. 2.1-3)

  6. Love never seeks its own. (Phil 2.4; 1 Cor. 10.24)

  7. Love has controls of all emotions. (James 1.19)

  8. Love does not think evil, but looks for good. (Rom. 12.17)

  9. Love does not glorify evil, but elevates truth. (Matt. 5.38-39)

  10. Love delights in the virtue & happiness of others. (Rom. 12.15)

  11. Love never fails & is invaluable. (1 Cor. 13.13)

III. LOVE IS TO BE PRACTICED BY ALL

  1. Toward God. (Deut. 6.5; John 14.15; 1 John 5.3)

  2. Toward our family. (Col. 3.19)

  3. Toward our neighbors. (Matt 5.43-46)

  4. Toward the brethren. (John 13.34-35)

Conclusion: We must let love be victorious in our daily lives!
