Introduction:
- The apostle Paul discusses the miraculous gifts of the Spirit.
- The Enumeration of the Spiritual Gifts (1 Cor. 12)
- The Duration of the Spiritual Gifts (1 Cor. 13)
- The Regulation of the Spiritual Gifts (1 Cor. 14)
- Consider the spiritual gifts of the New Testament era.
THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS ENUMERATED
- “Gifts” – charismátōn: pl. noun- “a gift of grace” (Vine). A genitive describing possession, i.e., belonging to the Spirit.
- Different than “the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2.38): tān dōreán tou hagiou pneúmatos [def., sing., appo.]
- The “Holy Spirit” is the gift; it’s relational!
- The 9 spiritual gifts – 1 Cor. 12.4-11} miraculous abilities…
- “Word of wisdom” (1 Cor. 2.7-13)
- “Word of knowledge” (1 Cor. 2.10-12)
- “Faith” (1 Cor. 13.2)

- The seven men in Jerusalem (Acts 6.5-6)
- Stephen & Philip (Acts 6.8-10 & Acts 8.4-13)
- The “laying on of the apostles’ hands…” (Acts 8.14-24; cf., Rom. 1.11; 2 Tim. 1.6).
